Homework, one A4 for a piece of fabric (cloth, shirt, blankie), crumple it abit, so you have layers and stuff to draw. Another A4 one for your hand-elbow segment.

Remember the difference between 2D and 3D.



2D Depth = Shade/Tone

3D Density = Highlight/Midtone/Shadow



Also lines, in terms of quality, how you can just glide your pencil, or push it hard to breaking point. Try out the knife sharpening method! And remember to reflect on your sketches!



Continuous contour lines only. Learn to not look at the object AS AN OBJECT, find the lines. Shapes for shades and tones.
